XPLA, the blockchain mainnet and global Web3 gaming platform, and Matter Labs, a software development, engineering, and cryptography company developing software for zkSync, announced a collaboration designed “to advance the development and deployment of Web3 games through the newly created zkXPLA ecosystem.”

The collaboration seeks to further “the development of new and innovative layers of infrastructure, tooling, open-source libraries, decentralization strategies, community-building toolsets, as well as products and games through zkXPLA.”

The zkXPLA mainnet is designed “to support Web3 games and projects expanding to the Ethereum ecosystem while offering interchain integration, as well as facilitating the onboarding of new gaming titles, entertainment experiences, as well as public projects with financial companies and government agencies.”

The hyperchain infrastructure on zkSync will “further optimize the deployment of games by publishers and developers via zkXPLA and offer a seamless end-to-end gaming environment with enhanced security, transparency, and lower transaction fees.”

In addition, key XPLA infrastructure tools will “be made available to publishers and developers through zkXPLA, including XPLA’s proprietary Game SDK and Vault.”

zkSync’s technology, which supports Solidity, the coding language used for the development of smart contracts on the Ethereum ecosystem, will play “an integral role in enabling the expansive and streamlined onboarding of DApps into XPLA.”

Paul Kim, XPLA team lead:

“Our collaboration with Matter Labs sets our mission of turning XPLA into the ultimate Web3 gaming platform for publishers, developers, and players into hyperspeed. The XPLA ecosystem has been created with trust, transparency, and compliance as a top priority at every step, and with recent onboarding of Validators including Google Cloud, Ubisoft, and gumi, plus our recent ISAE 3000 certification, we are excited to enter a new phase in Web3 game publishing. Today, through zkSync and zkXPLA, we have expanded XPLA to the Ethereum ecosystem which enables seamless onboarding for Web3 games and experiences while offering a better experience for players around the world.”

Rich Kim, Head of Web3 Entertainment and Media at Matter Labs, commented:

“Web3 gaming has been a major area of growth across the entire digital asset ecosystem, fueling the adoption of digital assets, and zkSync has been at the forefront of this innovation. For this momentum to continue, builders must have the necessary tools to take advantage of zkSync’s technology, and platforms like XPLA provide a necessary service.”

The XPLA Foundation operates the XPLA mainnet, and Com2uS Group, including Com2uS Holdings, are participating “as XPLA’s genesis contributors.”

XPLA is a layer1 mainnet run by “a network of global Web3 companies serving as validators and partners such as Google Cloud, LayerZero, gumi, Animoca Brands, YGG, Blockdaemon, and Cosmostation. Evolving into a global Web3 content hub, it onboards successive hit Web3 games based on popular IPs, including Summoners War: Chronicles, MiniGame Party, Ace Fishing: CREW, Idle Ninja Online, and The Walking Dead: All-Stars.”

The collaboration between XPLA and Matter Labs aims to go beyond gaming in the future and form a foundation “for the creation of a variety of different types of entertainment in the Web3 space through the zkXPLA platform.”

In connection with XPLA’s investors, “including Com2uS, the globally renowned games and entertainment company, additional business lines will look to be tapped into as new products in services ranging from VR/XR, K-Pop, Animation, and Webtoons.”
