The hallmark of Web3Inbox is its ability to offer notifications directly through users’ wallet accounts, bypassing the need for traditional communication channels like Discord and Telegram. Web3Inbox requires only a wallet signature for logging in, steering clear of the conventional need for personal details such as email addresses or phone numbers.

This development follows the strides of Coinbase Wallet, which introduced a way for users to send information among themselves on July 12 last year. The wallet’s new feature, in contrast, depends on an instant messaging system that allows users to converse using blockchain addresses, namely, the Extensible Message Transport Protocol (XMTP). According to Coinbase, this step was an attempt to reduce fraud in the crypto community.

In the pipeline for Web3Inbox is the incorporation of an instant messaging feature. This planned expansion, in addition, aims to further enrich the user experience while addressing the challenge of spam prevention.
